Fazel Atrachali is a famous Iranian Kabaddi player born on March 29, 1992, in Gorgan, Iran. He is a defender for Mumbai-based side U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Fazel likes to play on the left area of the field. He is a stalwart defender who can take down even the most skilled raiders. He is seasoned enough to know when to respond rapidly but yet patient enough to hold back.
Atrachali began playing kabaddi when he was 11 years old in his birthplace of Gorgan, Iran. He represented his country in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, and he even captained the national squad in the latter. Before joining the Pro Kabaddi League, he worked as a blacksmith in his village as a side job. In 2013, he took part in the Asian Indoor Games. When he is not practising hard on the mats or working hard in the office, Atrachali likes wrestling in his spare time.
Fazel competed for Iran at the 2010 Asian Games. He made his Pro Kabaddi League debut with U Mumba in season 2.
Rise to Glory:
Fazel competed in the 2010 Asian Games for Iran before moving on to the 2013 Asian Indoor Games. The Iranian defender also led his team to victory in the 2014 Asian Games.
Pro Kabaddi League Career of Fazel Atrachali:
Fazel represented U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League in 2014. After a few seasons with his initial team, he was acquired by Patna Pirates in 2016.
Fazel returned to U Mumba in 2018 after a season with Gujarat Fortunegiants in 2017-18. He was bought by the team for Rs. 1 crore, making him the most expensive foreign player in Pro Kabaddi history.
The Iranian national has been a prominent player for all of the teams he has been a part of. The defender has been taught by several excellent trainers, including E Bhaskaran and Manpreet Singh. He has appeared in 56 PKL games and has a successful tackle percentage of 60.86. He is the first foreign defender to surpass the century mark in tackles, with 152 points in 230 attempts.
