PKL Season 5 Champion

Pro Kabaddi is the most popular Kabaddi League in the world. The first season of Pro Kabaddi was held in 2014. The seventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League has come to an end. The Pro Kabaddi League’s eighth edition is set to take place in 2020. Due to Covid-19, there will be no season in 2020. The Pro Kabaddi League’s format was influenced by the Indian Premier League.

PKL Season 5 Champion: Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates are the most successful team in the Pro Kabaddi League, having won three championships in just seven seasons. Patna Pirates is also the only team to have won three consecutive Pro Kabaddi League finals in 2016 (January), 2016 (June), and 2017. Each of the Jaipur Pink Panthers, U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, and Bengal Warriors have won the Pro Kabaddi League title once.

In Season 5, four new teams were added to Pro Kabaddi, but Patna Pirates went on to win a hat-trick of titles. Patna Pirates captain Pardeep Narwal set numerous records during the season, including the iconic 8-point raid against the Haryana Steelers.

Patna Pirates went on to score 1,050 points in PKL Season 5, the most ever scored by a team in a single season.

The Pro Kabaddi Season 5 final was a one-sided affair, with Patna Pirates defeating Gujarat Giants 55-38. Pardeep Narwal was named the season’s MVP thanks to some incredible stats: the most raid points (369), the most super raids (18), and the most super 10s (19).

This fascinating encounter was capped off by a masterclass by Pardeep Narwal. The ‘Dubki King’ saved his best performance for the final five minutes of the game when Patna Pirates trailed by 18-25.

The three-time vivo Pro Kabaddi champions then put on a stunning performance.

In that game, Pardeep Narwal scored nine points, six of which came in the final five minutes. The game came down to the final minute when Patna Pirates were awarded a technical point to tie the score at 27-27.

PKL Season 2 Champion

  1. Eliminator 1: Puneri Paltan vs. U.P. Yoddha

Deepak Hooda’s Puneri Paltan and Nitin Tomar’s U.P. Yoddha squared off in one of the tensest PKL Season 5 encounters.

Puneri Paltan were on the verge of an early All-out with the score at 6-14 in the first half. But, thanks to a team effort led by Deepak Hooda, they overcame their sluggish start.

In the final minute, Puneri Paltan won 39-38 thanks to U.P. Yoddha’s last raid. Puneri Paltan’s defence, for their part, kept their cool and tackled Mahesh Goud in that crucial raid to seal the match. Deepak Hooda scored a magnificent ‘Super 10’ in this Do-or-Die match to advance his team to the next round.
